Join the Warm for Winter Project!

Gather your family and friends together to make a difference! Children, women and men in need of affordable housing wait in lines every day for food and assistance. You will help to keep the chill away and brighten a homeless individual’s day by knitting or crocheting hats and scarves --or make them from fleece! All faiths and spiritual folks welcomed.

Help us to meet our goal of collecting 1000 handmade hats and scarves this October / November, write and/or call Janice in October and find where you might like to deliver your gifts yourself before Thanksgiving. This year the Oct/Nov 2014 collection locations will be at some Houses of Worship where a Blessing of the Hats and Scarves may also be held. Ask your congregation if they are participating.

To participate in the Thanksgiving Project, please contact warmforwinter1@yahoo.com. Collections will be at various locations, so be sure to inquire about your nearest location. Pacific Fabrics stores will be collecting during October this year again—see http://pacificfabrics.com

In Washington State there are women, children, youth, and men all desperately in need of housing.
♥ Your handmade gifts are able to help many people stay warm in the Puget Sound area. A new gift lovingly made is always appreciated.

You are a part of the Warm for Winter Project to end homelessness through awareness and direct service when making handmade hats and scarves, promoting, and/or helping with deliveries!

Start an Intergenerational knitting/ crocheting social in your neighborhood or congregation, include your local school in the Warm for Winter Project. Any size handmade hats or scarves are welcomed, darker tone colored larger hats are needed along with longer scarves!

Ask your House of Worship and/or Congregation if they would like to hold a Blessing of the Hats and Scarves service in this 2014 year. 48 beautiful blessing services have been held to date. Thank you!
